Retake policy:
Test takers can retake the Oxford Test of English in full or take individual modules multiple times if required. Test takers may retake individual modules or a complete test. Test takers can take tests or modules on a maximum of two occasions (test sessions) in any 8-week period, and a maximum of four occasions (test sessions) in any 12-month period. These rules apply across the tests in the Oxford Test of English suite (the Oxford Test of English and Oxford Test of English Advanced).
The 8-week rule: The maximum number of occasions (test sessions) that a test taker can take any test or module in the Oxford Test of English suite in an eight-week period is two. EXAMPLE: if you take the Oxford Test of English on 1st March and take the Oxford Test of English Speaking module on 15th March, you cannot take any test or module in the Oxford Test of English suite until 26th April (the period of 1st March – 25th April is 8 weeks).
The 12-month rule: The maximum number of occasions (test sessions) that a test taker can take any test or module in the Oxford Test of English suite in a 12-month period is four. EXAMPLE: if you take the Oxford Test of English for on 1st August, the Oxford Test of English for Speaking and Writing modules on 15th August, the Oxford Test of English Advanced on 1st December and the Oxford Test of English Advanced Reading module on 20th December, you cannot take any test or module in the Oxford Test of English suite until 1st August the following year.
